Inspiring Story of a Lagos Danfo Driver Without Legs

Meet Pius Abayomi Abiodun, the 32year old Lagos Danfo bus driver that has proven that there is ability in disability. He was born with legs but on the 3rd of April, 2011 an unfortunate accident along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway landed him at the Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi and eventually led to the loss of his two legs.

After spending millions of naira at Igbobi, his legs could not be saved and were eventually amputated, leaving him in confusion as to how to fend for a young daughter and a pregnant wife. He tried his hands on a lot of vocations until his life changed when he met Mr. Cosmas Okoli, the owner of the Mobility Aid and Appliances Research Center at Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. Mr. Okoli encouraged him to get a bus on rental payment and he fabricated a device at only N50,000, attached to the bus to enable him drive it.

Today, Pius Abiodun makes a living plying the Oshodi route with his bus, giving true meaning to the phrase "Once there is life, there is definitely hope".
