Election Petition Tribunal Annuls the Election of the Rivers State Speaker and 20 Lawmakers

The election of the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Owaji Ibani from Andoni constituency, along with 20 lawmakers all elected under the PDP has been nullified by the Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

This development would further compound the situation of Governor Nyesom Wike whose election was also nullified by the Tribunal on Saturday. The State House of Assembly has 32 lawmakers and the removal of 21 members would cripple the activities of the House.
